According to Sports Illustrated and E! News, the Arizona Cardinals tight end and the U.S. women’s national soccer team player took to Instagram on Thursday to announce the birth of their first child, Madden.
“One week with our sweet boy!” Zach Ertz, 31, captioned a photo of the newborn. “Madden Matthew Ertz, you are so loved. Beyond grateful to be your dad. @JulieErtz and I can’t even put into words how blessed we are to be your parents.”
The baby, who arrived at 11 a.m. Aug. 11, weighed 8.2 pounds and measured 22 inches long shortly after his birth, according to a small sign featured in the photo.
The new parents, who tied the knot in 2017, marked their fifth wedding anniversary in March, E! reported.
