Jacksonville FL — Beginning Thursday, the City of Jacksonville’s Animal Care and Protective Services will be hosting a four-day free pet adoption event. The city says this offer stands for all dogs and cats and more than 100 dogs are available for adoption. The event runs until Sunday at the ACPS shelter on 2020 Forest Street near downtown. We’ve outlined the available hours below.

• Thursday, Sept. 2nd from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.

• Friday, Sept. 3rd from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.

• Saturday, Sept. 4th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

• Sunday, Sept. 5th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The city says license fees may apply. You can click here to view available pets.

Elsewhere in Northeast Florida, Clay County says its Animal Service kennels are full, and to help open up space for new stray dogs, it’s waiving adoption fees for all dogs over the age of six months until September 19th. We’re told each dog will be spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines.

To make an appointment you can call 904-529-4107 or email them at clayadoptions@claycountygov.com.
