JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — UPDATE 10:04 p.m.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a sedan was traveling westbound on I-10 and exited on the I-295 ramp.
The driver lost control of the vehicle and ran off the road and into the grass and dirt shoulder. The vehicle struck a tree and the driver was pronounced deceased from the impact.

The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department have responded to a fatal crash on I-10 west along the ramp to I-295.
I-10 Westbound is shut down at the merge onto I-295 Northbound and Southbound.
Crews are responding to a traffic accident on I-10 west ramp to I-295...E26 is on scene advising one person is trapped. Expect delays in the area.
