JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to a deadly motorcycle crash at Blanding Blvd. and Confederate Point Road just before 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
An SUV and a motorcycle that were both headed north collided at the intersection, police say.
The motorcyclist was killed after getting knocked off the motorcycle and hit by a minivan going the opposite direction. The motorcyclist has not been identified.
Everyone involved remained at the scene and is cooperating as police investigate what led to the crash.
This is the 33rd traffic fatality in Duval County and the 6th involving a motorcycle this year.
The crash closed off Blanding Blvd. and Confederate Point Road and traffic is being rerouted onto Cedar Hills Blvd. and Autumn Lane.
