“Stairway” denied no more

Let me start by saying I don’t know how to play guitar—not at all. But one of my favorite things to do in this life is go to a guitar store and jam on guitars and basses, using equipment I can’t afford and making a racket. That’s what I like to do.

For people who do not play guitar, they go in and test out equipment they think they might buy. For a long time now, one song has been off the playlist—in fact, banned from being played inside the retail giant Guitar Center. That song is the Led Zeppelin opus “Stairway to Heaven.” Personally, I don’t understand why you would ban someone from playing one of the biggest and best songs of all time. In fact, I would be curious to see if they could do it. Apparently, though, that’s not the vibe they were going for. However, we now live in a softer, gentler world, and Guitar Center has decided to be more inclusive and allow people to play “Stairway to Heaven” (Source) after all. I wonder how they feel about “Smoke on the Water.”

Tank

If you asked Tank why he got in to radio he will tell you “Some kids wanted to be Zach Morris. I wanted to be ‘Dr’ Johnny Fever.” There isn’t anything else in the world that Tank could see himself doing.
