Best break-up songs

Broken heart syndrome "Broken heart syndrome,” or takotsubo syndrome, is a condition where sudden heart failure is believed to be triggered by a tragic life event, such as the death of a loved one. (portishead1/Getty Images/iStockphoto)

So The Guardian listed the 20 best break-up songs Here and I thought about it and I had to consider what makes a break-up song great. Does it make you forget your heart ache or does it marinate you in the sweet misery of lost love...I am gonna go with the latter. With that in mind; here are my top 5 break-up songs.

#5. Girl From The North Country- Bob Dylan Ft. Johnny Cash. This song is basically perfect. No notes. The Man in Black and The Free wheelin’ one reminisce of a love that geography couldn’t erase.

#4. I’d Rather Go Blind (Etta James cover) Beyonce. No disrespect to the impeccable Etta James but, this version is sheer heartbreak fuel. You whiskey is getting warm and your heart is getting cold.

#3. All Out of Love- Air Supply. Ok. This is a song that takes me back to all the heartbreaks of high school or as I would call them later “Superficial wounds”. Lots of nights spent playing this over the phone which seems weird for a 17 year old offensive lineman to do but, I was in the drama club too if that helps.

#2. Wild Horses- Rolling Stones. This is one of those songs that hits right in the ol’ memory box. This is the song you play when you know they quit and you don’t know if you ever can.

#1. Black- Pearl Jam (MTV Unplugged version). There probably isn’t a music l would make that wouldn’t feature at least one song from Pearl Jam’s “Ten” and this is no exception. The love that you have is over and you don’t really know why but, you know the hollow feeling that has taken over and the live acoustic version captures it even more melodramatically.

Tank

Tank

If you asked Tank why he got in to radio he will tell you “Some kids wanted to be Zach Morris. I wanted to be ‘Dr’ Johnny Fever.” There isn’t anything else in the world that Tank could see himself doing.
