Happy Global Handwashing Day! 👐✨ (Aka the one day a year we all pretend we never forget to wash our hands 😅.)
A new survey just dropped some seriously gross stats — and guys, it’s not looking good for you. 👀
💧 77% of Americans say they regularly see people leave public restrooms without washing their hands. That’s actually worse than last year, when only 68% noticed it. Yikes.
🚹 Men are the biggest offenders: While 85% of women say they always wash up, only 77% of men do the same. (That means roughly 1 in 4 men are walking out of that restroom like they just won a NASCAR race — no soap, no shame. 🏁🫣)
🚿 And it gets grosser: 45% of people admit to sometimes rinsing with just water — no soap at all. (So basically… spreading the germs around for flavor. 🤢)
🧍♂️Parents are split too: 75% of dads think their kids wash their hands enough, but only half of moms agree. (Shocking no one.)
Overall, 93% of Americans say they believe handwashing is important… but clearly, belief doesn’t always equal action.😬
And let’s be honest — some public restrooms are so nasty you’d rather take your chances. 🚫🧻💩 84% of people say dirty bathrooms make them think less of a business.💪 60% use paper towels to open doors.🦶 43% flush toilets with their foot.🍑 30% use their backside or foot to open doors.💪 27% even operate towel dispensers with their elbow!
So yeah… if you’re out celebrating Global Handwashing Day, maybe give that sink a little extra love today. 💦🧼💖
Your hands (and everyone else’s) will thank you. 🙌
